When Vicky Whiter took over Peters’ Cleaners in June 2016, her vision was to re-establish Peters’ Cleaners as the best dry cleaners in the region.
Vicky spent time introducing changes in the shops and factory, ensuring the customer was put at the heart of everything the business did. That focus, coupled with the pioneering development of the 24/7 self-service pods, a cashpoint style service for dry cleaning, has won the business 6 awards in the last 3 years .
The Laundry and Dry Cleaning Awards (LADAs) are the national industry awards for all businesses involved in the dry cleaning and laundry industry.
Peters’ Cleaners was a finalist in the ‘Most Innovative Category’ for its 24/7 self-service pods, a cashpoint style drop off and pick up for dry cleaning.
Whilst Peters’ Cleaners did not win, the business was praised for its innovation.
The Global Business Excellence Awards are open to all types of businesses across the UK.
Peters’ Cleaners won this award in recognition of the successful implementation of is new customer service initiative – putting the customer first. The company was recognised as having achieved ‘awe-inspiring customer service’.
Through the provision of customer feedback, Peters’ Cleaners was able to demonstrate that it achieved a 99.97% success rate in achieving its mission which is ‘to ensure every item cleaned is returned to the customer in the best possible condition it can be, on time, every time.
Run by SME Magazine, the UK Enterprise Awards encourage customers, social media influencers and magazine subscribers to nominate businesses they think excel in their area.
Businesses are then asked to submit information and this is coupled with research done by the magazine and winners are decided.
We were thrilled that out of an estimated 3,500 dry cleaners, we were awarded Best Dry Cleaning Business 2020 in the UK!
The Cambridgeshire Prestige Awards recognise small and medium-sized businesses that have proven to be the best in their market.
Peters’ Cleaners won the award due to its exceptional customer service, continued commitment to quality and innovation.
In 2019, Peters’ Cleaners was thrilled to become the first company to retain the title of Best Independent Retailer.
Nominated again by customers, the judges were impressed by the continued development of the business noting the progression of the marketing, continued commitment to the customer and the 24/7 self-service pod coming online.
The company was also praised for working with Peterborough College in recruiting a student with Asperger’s Syndrome who may otherwise find it challenging to find a job on the open market.
Celebrating local business, the Mercury Award for Best Independent Retailer was awarded to Peters’ Cleaners in 2018.
The judges praised the company’s commitment to its customer, exceptional growth, marketing and innovative plans for the future with the development of the 24/7 self-service pod.
The Mercury Awards celebrate the achievements of businesses local to the Stamford, Bourne, Deeping , Oakham and surrounding areas.
In 2018, Peters’ Cleaners was awarded Best Customer Care of all businesses in the area for its dedication to customer service. The company was nominated by its customers and demonstrated exceptional customer service, care and pride in cleaning and fantastic testimonials and feedback from customers.
